Illustrated talk by Ross Hofmeyr on Part 2 of his trip to Antarctica.
Those who heard the riveting account of his year at the South African base will not want to miss this follow-up talk on his experiences as medic on a cruise ship to the Far South.
The talk will be followed by refreshments and a chance to chat to Ross about his trip.

Soccer Social + Bring 'n Share Supper
Venue:     Stone Cottages, Kirstenbosch
Time:      8 p.m.
Brazil will be playing Peoples' Republic of Korea in Johannesburg, kick-off at 8.30 p.m.   We are bringing in a TV so that we can watch the match.
The evening will start with a pot-luck supper – please bring a main dish or dessert.

Jean-Paul van Belle will give an illustrated talk on caves in Borneo and other unusual places he has visited. This promises to be a very interesting evening.
 
Bring your friends and socialize after the talk over tea or coffee.

A big thanks to those that attended the slide show, there where interesting combination’s of different food types and some very interesting slides (once i figured out how the pre-digital era slide projector worked).

There where some vary interesting pictures of caves that we could and could not identify and some that made you want to go and find them. The slides varied from Kalk Bay caves to De Hoop, Cango II & III, Table Mountain, etc

Not to mention slides of some very dirty cavers. All in all, it was a laugh a minute.

We would like as many caving slides as possible so please bring along any you have.
This will be a  SLIDE  evening – we plan to have a digital evening later in the year.
Please bring a dish of something for the communal table.

The next club social will be on the 20th April 2010 (Tuesday).

We will be viewing slides of various members caving trips as well as various slides on caves.
