Stuart Hall will give an illustrated talk on his recent climbing holiday in Malawi and share some of his experiences with us. Malawi is probably little known to most of us and this is an opportunity for us to learn more and ask Stuart any questions we may have about this part of Central Africa.
Refreshments will be served after the talk.

The club would like to thank Jac Kriek for sharing his experiences as a past guide, researcher and explorer at Cango Caves.
The video footage and photos where amazing. He kept us entertained and inspired on what it must have been like first exploring the depths of the Cango caves.

Documentary film on Cango Caves by Jac Kriek
Jac worked as a guide and researcher at Cango for many years and amongst other things, made a fascinating documentary of the Caves.
After the film you will be able to question him on his hands-on knowledge.

Illustrated talk by Ross Hofmeyr on Part 2 of his trip to Antarctica.
Those who heard the riveting account of his year at the South African base will not want to miss this follow-up talk on his experiences as medic on a cruise ship to the Far South.
The talk will be followed by refreshments and a chance to chat to Ross about his trip.

Soccer Social + Bring 'n Share Supper
Venue: Stone Cottages, Kirstenbosch

Brazil will be playing Peoples' Republic of Korea in Johannesburg, kick-off at 8.30 p.m. We are bringing in a TV so that we can watch the match.
The evening will start with a pot-luck supper – please bring a main dish or dessert.

A big thanks to those that attended the slide show, there where interesting combination’s of different food types and some very interesting slides (once i figured out how the pre-digital era slide projector worked).
There where some vary interesting pictures of caves that we could and could not identify and some that made you want to go and find them. The slides varied from Kalk Bay caves to De Hoop, Cango II & III, Table Mountain, etc
Not to mention slides of some very dirty cavers. All in all, it was a laugh a minute.

We would like as many caving slides as possible so please bring along any you have.
This will be a SLIDE evening – we plan to have a digital evening later in the year.
